This next one should be pretty short, since it's really one line that ruins the whole song for me. Which is a shame in some cases, because one poorly-written line can destroy an otherwise catchy song.
Now I'm not saying this song is catchy, at least not for me. It's just been on the radio a lot for the last year, and I didn't used to hate it the way I do now. I used to tolerate it.
Today's song is "Breakeven" by The Script.
First verse is fine, it's the second verse where my problem begins. The song starts out fine enough, it seems like it's going to be a typical breakup song, and in many ways it is, but for one teensy tiny bit. Lyric quoting time.

While I'm wide awake she's no trouble sleeping
'Cause when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven... even... no
It's the second line. It implies that the reason dude is now a single man is because he was neglecting the woman. Or maybe not neglecting, but at least she felt as though she wasn't a priority in his life, which is a sucky way to feel. So she moved on to someone who would make her happy. And now he spends a whole song whining and griping about how he's sooooo heartbroken and she's so happy. Well duh, the relationship ended because apparently you weren't making her happy, dude. Which means she was unhappy. Now it's your turn to feel the pain. Cry more.
Someone really needs to have an editor look over lyrics before they're released as hit songs, I swear.

of course it was on a 9x9 board, but there was no handicap! I kicked that AI's ass! by 70.5 moku on one of them!! (Maybe it was going easy on me I don't even know but who cares I beat it)
Got my Sephora stuff today. As I feared, the perfume was not up my alley so I gave it to my mother as an early mother's day gift since it was a scent that she would enjoy. She was pretty happy about the surprise. They sent along a couple of perfume samples, and I really like one of them, so I'll probably end up getting that instead. It's light and floral but not overpowering or sickeningly sweet as some florals can be.
I went out today! On an actual outing! It was kind of nice, one of my coworkers and I grabbed lunch and gossiped. Our favorite supervisor had a mental breakdown the other day, because of a douchebag she was dating who happens to work in the same building. He's being an ass about the whole thing, and I just want to kick him in the nads, but that would get her in trouble. It's seriously frustrating ugh.
Why is music so supremely inspiring for writing purposes? Another fic I'll never write popped into my head earlier today :|

IT HAS BEEN AGES SINCE LAST I POSTED. I finished The Demon's Lexicon. Wasn't terribly impressed. I've been baking some recently. I don't have pictures this time, but I do have a recipe for those interested. They were some pretty good brownies, which were meant to be turned into a sort of brownie-cookie hybrid, but by the time the batter was mixed I was feeling sick to my stomach and unwilling to put the extra effort into the cookie-molding bit of the recipe.

My brother has been in town for a week, and decided that we're going to a convention. I may try to enter the fanfic contest, though I hold little hope of winning anything. But what do I have to lose, besides my self-esteem, right? WE SHALL SEE. We may not even be going, so I'll wait until that gets decided.
My uncle is also staying with us for a while. It's not so bad, except for the part where HE AND MY BROTHER DON'T PUT THE TOILET SEAT DOWN AFTER THEY PEE. I have -not- missed sharing a bathroom with dudes at all. AT ALL. *rages*

I think I really hate the not-white background of the whole site. What's wrong with plain white for the main site? It's the biggest problem I had with insanejournal too. IT'S REALLY UNATTRACTIVE AFTER A WHILE.
Also, the lack of being able to customize anything really. What the hell why am I staying here if my "reading list" (also retarded. And kind of feels distant, whereas the people you follow on LJ are "friends". It seems to foster more of a community feel over there, where this is almost like some anonymous RSS feed :|) is eyebleeding? UNLESS SOMEONE CAN SHOW ME WHERE THE PRETTY COLORS ARE, I'M PROBABLY LEAVING THIS PLACE ALONE UNTIL THEY HAVE DECENT COLORS AND STYLES TO WORK WITH.
